I had an incredibly positive and empowering natural birth experience!!! Minke made me believe in myself during active labor and push time. I was fortunate enough to have four midwives present. Thank you for safely delivering our daughter and providing outstanding post-natal care, specifically the home visits with Sheryl. We love our daughter so much \u003c3

Could not be more grateful for my midwives Sky and Minka. I was transferred care to an OB at the hospital but they were incredible -Especially postpartum! I highly recommend them
I have mixed feeling about my experiences with the team at Genesis Midwives, I will start with the positive. The midwife who assisted with my labour was very supportive of me. Everything went well and I now have a healthy baby thanks to her support. My son and I received care from many midwives and they all seem veery knowledgeable. Now to the negative. I don’t know if it was because of COVID but I found the beginning of my care to be disabling. The way a few of the midwifes I talked to over the phone (since I couldn’t go into the clinic) made me feel like I was just a bother to them. Also I was told that I had to save all my questions for my appointments I wasn’t allowed to call or email them unless I was asked to or it was an emergency. 2/3 times I called for an emergency I was told in a round about way, that it wasn’t pregnancy related and I shouldn’t have called them about it. But it being my first pregnancy I didn’t know what was going on, even if it wasn’t my first pregnancy I probably still wouldn’t know what’s was going on to be honest. Like I said maybe it was COVID and they were stressed out and trying to figure out how to do their job in a new way. But I just felt like I was just a bother to them on multiple occasions and that’s not a nice thing to feel, especially from people who are supposed to be helping you, supporting you and giving you care.
My experience with the team at Genesis Midwives was nothing short of amazing. I believe I met the entire staff through my time (just before COVID) and they were all extremely helpful. My main midwives were Jessica and Sherly but the day I delivered I had Sheryl and Minka. These two ladies are GOD send, I kid you not. By the time I delivered (April 2020) we were well in COVID and they took the necessary precautions to keep me and my baby safe. I opted for a hospital birth and wanted the epidural but the baby came so quickly I didn't get a chance to take it. I thought I would die - literally, but these 2 ladies coached me through it 100% of the way with encouraging words. They empowered me and convinced me that I was a superwoman who CAN deliver naturally and I did, to a healthy baby boy. Post delivery, they were available for my many questions and panicked calls and the aftercare check ups at home were so appreciated. They are extremely knowledgeable and super supportive. I felt like they were apart of my family, so much so, when I was transferred back to my doctor, I was sad. This was my first experience with midwives and I would never go back to a regular OBGYN again. There are so many benefits of having midwife care, especially with this team of dedicated ladies. Now, I found out I am having twins and I am hopeful that I will have the same experience with these ladies as I did with my first. I highly recommend this group of women.
All of the staff at Genesis are taking wonderful care of me and our soon-to-be-born baby. So thankful to have them all on our team.
