Cold Lake First Nations (CLFN) along with Global Raymac Surveys (GRS) have formed a new partnership to serve the Cold Lake Area: Kinosoo Global Survey Limited Partnership(KGS). This partnership was formed and registered in October 2012. Kinosoo Global Surveys is the only majority aboriginal owned survey company operating in the Cold Lake Area. KGS is majority owned by CLFN, and chose the name "Kinosoo" because of its strong identity to the Cold Lake area, due the legend of the "Kinosoo" (big fish) in Cold Lake. The Cold Lake fishery was always an important food source for CLFN. Today the fishery can no longer provide an economic livelihood but by expanding its capacity to provide survey services, CLFN can participate in the economic benefits of resource development on its traditional lands.
