Just the best !!!! Staff is super friendly Staff is very knowledgeable, they will give you great information (Canoes, conditions...) Good price Canoe and paddles were great (you got a beautiful and light wooden paddle) Location is great No deposit to book the canoe All the process is easy and quick We have been renting canoes in a dozen outfitters in Ontario, but this was by far our best experience. Everything was perfect from the beginning until the end of our trip. We contacted Algonquin Basecamp by email to get information about their Canoe. Within few hours we got an answer with great advice (they were actually suggesting a cheaper Canoe that the one we had selected ). We told them that we will be come to pick up our Canoe when they open, and when we arrive everything was ready (the contract, the canoe...) we only had to sign and put our canoe on our Car. We loved that they were so well organised. The lady at the desk gave us information about the conditions and checked that we knew where we were going and that we had the proper equipment. Then we went outside, to put the canoe on the top of the car. We already did it several times but it was very nice to have the advice of one of the staff who took some time to help us. He was so patient and explaining every little details. In only 10-15 we were ready to go. During all our exchanges, we loved that we did not felt judged not knowing something (differences between two type of canoes, the best knot to tie you canoe...). We left Algonquin Basecamp with a big smile on our faces. The smiles did not left us as our trip on the Tim river was amazing. Returning the canoe was a quick and easy process. We will definitely come back and we would recommend Algonquin Basecamp to everybody (from the canoe expert and the newbies)

I have rented from Algonquin Basecamp about 5 times over the past 5 years and they have always been fantastic. The gear is well-maintained and in very good condition and the team is very responsive and helpful. They have loads of helpful backcountry items for sale at their shop too. Thanks for another awesome trip!
Super nice people. Great boats and probably the best rental paddles I've ever used
The owner was extremely friendly and knowledgeable. The whole rental process was easy and straight forward. I would definitely rent from here again and would highly recommend if you are in the Algonquin area.
