So far it has been great for my kid. His sensei is challenging, charming and engaging. The centre has a family atmosphere, at least for the kids classes. All in all, a really positive experience.

The Ottawa Academy of Martial Arts hosted my 4 year old's birthday party at their location in Kanata. Not only were the party hosts extremely welcoming and engaging (all our guests participated and said they had a great time) but they had the space all decorated and set up before we arrived. Our son cut his cake with a sword and had their monster truck pick him up to go to the party. It was an experience he will never forget and super affordable!! I highly recommend OAMA for anyone looking for great kids martial arts programming at a great price!

I've been a member here for the past 9 months and cannot say enough good things about OAMA. The instructors are world-class and their dedication to the club is unreal. There's such a great vibe here, the members you roll with become family and you help each other advance and improve. It's such a humbling experience and I highly suggest it for everyone; kids to seniors and everything in between. They offer a free week for anyone that wants to try it out and it's a great way to see how you like it. Everyone is friendly and it makes it so easy to jump in and have fun. If you're considering it, don't think any longer, just stop by!

Fantastic kids programs. We've taken the nightly lessons and also the After School Program. I highly recommend both! The adult and teenage instructors are very skilled and motivating to the kids, and it makes its lots of fun. They have become a second family to us.

Best place to learn Martial Arts in Kanata. They specialize in Brazilian Jiu Jitsu and Muay Thai kickboxing. This is legit training, with the gym affiliated with the Renzo Gracie Academyin NY and the Ottawa Academy of Martial Arts. Fred (the main instructor) is the most funny, dynamic and talented martial arts coach I've ever met. Kids and adults have a ball. If you want to get in shape, and get to know some fantastic people while you do it, this is the place to go.
