I am so happy of having this center here in Winnipeg. They are really beautiful persons and helping us to understand a bit more what is Buddhism. If you want to know how to meditate, even if you want to study deeper in this teachings, this is the better place to go, a place full of light. I hope I can learn from them a lot of things :).

This is a great place to learn the basics of meditation as well as Buddhist practice. It is a modern presentation of Buddhism, explained by a Buddhist master who understands the challenges of Western life. I have found them very welcoming and able to offer something for everyone, whatever our interest or level of commitment. Qualified Kadampa teachers lead meditation and Buddhism classes.

Didn't really feel welcome when I walked through the door. Saw an advertised price of 10, but was told it was 15 for walk-in. I had 13 and they refused to accept the payment after I told them I would come back after the class and give them the remaining 2. Having to drive to an ATM, pull out money for 2 in change, come back, find parking and then re-enter would make me miss half the class. So, really? You're going to refuse people over 2? Upon noticing the other members in the building, I've noticed that they were all white and there were no persons of colour. Seeing that I was a person of colour, I'm not sure if it had something to do with the refusal of my payment. I was so excited to finally begin meditating with a group of people. I've only meditated alone. I would highly recommend looking for a more welcoming and zen-like meditation centre. This one seems to be about money and/or exclusivity.

A very peaceful and welcoming place in a down to earth, welcoming neighbourhood. Kelsang Rigden is a knowledgeable nun and a devoted practitioner of Buddhism. Her teachings hit right to the heart of modern life troubles while also being light hearted. The classes are open to all levels of Buddhism and meditation practitioners. I hope everyone has the opportunity to visit the centre and attend the valuable teachings of Buddha.
