Our first corporate office and factory were established at Richmond, B.C. Canada, in the year 1974.   In 1993 Johnson Industries purchased the British brake company "Elevanja"​.  The Elevanja company has been designing and manufacturing electric brakes since 1915, and the acquisition has made the Johnson brake line very versatile.    In 1997 Johnson Industries opened up a second office in Toronto Canada to serve our eastern clients. As of October 25th 2005 we moved to a larger updated manufacturing facility in Delta B.C. Johnson designs and manufactures a range of products in house including hydraulic, pneumatic, spring-set or manually applied caliper disc brakes and brake systems for use on hoists, conveyers, propulsion systems, mobile service rigs, Drawworks, and other rotating equipment.   Johnson also produces electro-magnetic and electro-hydraulic thruster drum and disc brakes which are in service around the world on cranes, hoists and other material handling and power transmission equipment. We also serve the port industry, and material handling industries with our rail clamp systems.
