This guy was super nice to me. A bit off at the beginning but then offered to have my old uke fixed for free when I got him a new one. I hadn't even bought the old one there. He was very helpful.
There is no possible reason good enough for you to need to visit this hole. In the 30 years that I have walked by this armpit, I've never seen a single guitar sold or even known anybody dumb enough to buy from these jerks. Try this little game, in case you ever get the urge to be verbally abused by a perfect stranger. Set your phone's "stopwatch" feature the moment you walk in the door and count the number of seconds before the old guy behind the counter shouts at you, "Hey...can I help you!!??", "What do you need???!!" or "Are you gonna buy anything?!!". If you managed to last 30 seconds, count yourself amongst the top 10% of the population. If you lasted 60 seconds, welcome to the elite 1%, but lets be honest here...theres no way you lasted 60 seconds. Its never happened.
What a bunch of clowns. Like someone else said, there is absolutely no reason to visit this store. Limited inventory, no interest in customers, and an unlimited supply of arrogance and bad attitude. The only thing surprising is that they are still open. This is the type of people who might give Montreal a bad image. They were the only knot heads with a bad attitude we experienced in Montreal. Simply unbelievable.
The worst music store in Montreal, and possibly in the world. If you walk in and they don't like you, they could literally chase you out of the store with verbal hostility. Anybody working in customer service should go there, to learn the value of respect (by not getting any). These guys make Basil Fawlty look good.
I walked in and the guy standing behind the counter was extremely rude for no reason. I was very accomodating towards him, but no, he was rude. Maybe he is knowledgeable, but if you treat your customers like crap, you don't deserve my business, sorry! They have a big selection of guitars, though. Lots of odd stuff.
I am secretely convinced that this store belongs to Steve's Music and they get paid to offer an even worse service than they do (which is tough!) that way they will look good by comparison. How can this store possibly stay open otherwise? Anyways avoid like the plague
Very knowledgeable staff. While I was there several obnoxious non customers came in - probably some of the negative review writers - and got in the way of serious buyers. The staff still was courteous in asking them to behave.
