This is a great place to learn to fly. There are many benefits to learning at a busy airport with real traffic. You learn how to make proper radio calls with tower and need to deal with different situations and instructions from them. You always need to be aware, can't take anything for granted, and it forces you to be a better pilot. Not to mention, if you live in Toronto, it is the most convenient location. The owner, Mel, takes excellent care of the planes and they're all in great shape. Even the older Cessna models are still going strong after 40 years. I've flown with 4 different instructors here and they have all been awesome. I did most of my training with Ali and I think he is an excellent instructor, he's extremely accommodating with his schedule, and a great teacher. I found he is very good at determining how fast or slow he needs to take things to make sure you really understand the concepts. He will take you into challenging weather situations to make sure you experience these things with him first, rather than by yourself, later on. I've always felt confident after our lessons, and each one of them has been a pleasure.

2 days ago I took a city tour and it was so amazing the views were spectacular and our pilot Giorgino was knowledgeable and very friendly and even allowed us to fly the planes a bit.

Great flight school. Very convenient for public transit users. The CFI Kiran S. and all the dispatch team are very responsive and attentive. The learning environment is amazing as there will always be someone to answer your questions! Breathtaking views of the city.

Exceptional Flying School Downtown. Very disciplined. Well maintained aircrafts. The school was easy to find. Had the pleasure of flying with instructor Deepak Yadav. Very professional. Extremely experienced. Courteous. Patient in answering all my questions. Got me involved in the session from the start. Quizzed me on several topics before, during and after the flight. Get my PPL at another school due to moving but I highly recommend this flight school to all local residents. It's a lifetime experience flying at YTZ with great instructors.
