A picture says a thousand words, these pictures are taken from my 2 year and 4 year olds rooms. We decided to pay extra for spray foam insulation. If I didn't catch Ideals sketchy work my family would have become sick and the house would be a tear down. A little icing on the cake. They weren't even suppose to be spraying. Just showed up unannounced. They said it looks good! Terrible experience and terrible company to deal with. My wife and I have been removing this foam for the past month after Ideal sprayed our dream home. They argued with me and to this day have not and will not apologize. It's all very disturbing to me from the work to the people.

I am a 30 year tradesman myself (albeit not a roofer), and I was in need of new shingles this year. I received 5 quotes from 5 different companies. Not only did Mike from Ideal bring me the best (lowest) quote, but after a quick investigation of my roof and attic (with photos he had taken), he offered solid recommendations and showed me samples. One of the biggest reasons I did choose Ideal over their competitors, was the product. I love the GAF HD Timberline shingle, and the Barkwood colour was perfect for my house. The crew installed the shingles, and I am very impressed. This new roof is a huge improvement. I also decided to upgrade my ceiling insulation at the same time, from R24 to R60, because I saved money just by choosing Ideal over their competitors. The crews were professional, quick, and cleaned up after themselves. I highly recommend Ideal Insulation.
Ideal insulated our renovated areas with spray foam. They were on time, on budget and great to deal with. Would highly recommend.
Sales person cancelled my blow-in insulation appointment twice without talking to me. Once for not filling out forms that were emailed to me that same day. And once for not calling in a deposit that was never asked for. He made a mistake on the estimate provided at my home and simply raised the price on the quote sent to me without informing me. On top of that, promised a 5% discount but when the quote arrived there was no discount. I went with a competitor. I hope this is a sales issue and not a company issue that is why the 2 out of 5.
We purchased a fifty year old house in Calgary and quickly realized just by looking at it that the attic insulation was inadequate (it was original wood chips, the vapour barrier was not in tact, and the vents for the bathroom fans and range hood were not to code). So we made calls to a few companies and had representatives from each come to our home to investigate it further. The best company by far was IDEAL Insulation and Roofing. Mike from IDEAL promptly came to our home and did a thorough examination of what what needed to be done to insulate our garage and interior attic including removing old insulation and supplying new, putting vapour barrier where it was missing and repairing/taping what was there, air venting the attic, supplying new roof vents for fans, skylight insulation and back pan etc. The prices were very competitive and the systematic organization of the work was amazing. I cannot stress how professional this company is. Mike arranged the trades, which were many, to our home to complete the various aspects of the work required and came regularly to check the progress. Dan, an insulation supervisor from IDEAL also came to our home each day to check the work while in progress and the work when it was completed. What a fantastic company! We highly recommend IDEAL to anyone who needs insulation or roofing. You won’t be disappointed. And if you have an older home, maybe let them come out and look to see the state of your home. Well worth it. Thank you IDEAL. You are certainly a five-star operation.
