The trail is difficult but worth it! It's very rocky with some steep climbs but the scenery is beautiful. You're in the shade for most of the trail so even on the hottest summer day it's not too bad. Make sure to bring bug repellent and proper footwear. May be best to avoid after a heavy rainfall as the rocks can get slippery. Did I mention to bring proper footwear?

Challenging trail but in fall the scenery is totally worth it!! There isn't a ton of parking but people just parked down the road when the lot filled up. It's a longer trail so give yourself 6hours to complete the trail (assuming you're not stopping for photos every 2min like me). Personally one of my favorite trails to do in fall :)

Great trail, difficult terrain at times, definitely not a trail for the faint of heart or young kids...at least not walking the complete hike. But the sites and scenery along the way were gorgeous! Family had a great time! 4 hours to the shelter at a casual pace, and 2 hours pushing hard with 2 young teenagers and a 12 year old. If you enjoy family hikes or hikes period, this is one you absolutely have to take in Manitoba!

This trail is as rewarding as it is challenging. It's steep climbs on the Canadian shield give way to incredible views of ponds covered in marsh marigolds and breathtaking moss covered terrain. (Well maybe it was the climb that took my breath away!) It's a good hour and a half drive from Winnipeg, at the end of highway 44 but if you want a better route to travel there, turn north from #1 towards West Hawk Lake and watch for the sign. The hike is not around Hunt Lake, as I had originally thought. It travels along the shore of Hunt Lake, then along West Hawk Lake and back.

It’s so beautiful with hills and trees, lake view is amazing! It’s a challenging trail , not for very young kids. Wear good hiking boots and bring a lot of water and food. Watch the signs don’t get lost. Cell phone is not working well. One way 6.5 K, return total of 13k.

Bring a lot of water. And also the way back is a bit unclear so if you can track where you are it would be good.
