The Hospitality Workers Training Centre (HWTC) is a non-profit that provides free, hands-on and training, career development and employment to unemployed adults and youth. We work directly with Hospitality employers to design our to meet industry needs. We train to 300 people a year for in-demand, quality employment at hotel and food service organizations. HWTC also provides free training to Associates already working in the Hospitality and Food Service sectors. With the support of UNITE HERE, Local 75, we offer free courses that help Hospitality workers advance in both their careers and their lives. HWTC operates Hawthorne Food and Drink, a social enterprise training restaurant. Trainees develop in-demand skills in a venue that showcases Ontario's local bounty. After training at Hawthorne, participants are connected to cooking, kitchen support, serving and host positions in Toronto’s top hotels and institutions.. Through our work, we serve the Hospitality and Food Service sectors as well as individuals seeking economic independence.
