Maybe call ahead. Im sad to say that it was closed at 1pm on a Wednesday. Maybe it's seasonal? I dont want to give it a rating since I didn't go in but I can't make a comment without it. From what I've heard there's some good stuff in there.

Don't miss the opportunity to learn about the rich history of fishing, transportation, education and families of Hay River. The Hay River Museum and Heritage Society has an amazing wealth of static displays, books, photos and historical artifacts in the Museum in the Old Town. Very knowledgeable staff are there to show you around and answer your questions.

We hail from Edmonton and were so pleasantly surprised with the museum. It's wonderful history up North and the staff was so nice, it was like a custom tour for free. Just simply wonderful.

Visiting this location was very much worth the drive up. Learned a lot from the items this place has collected. The staff was very friendly, and super knowledgeable on the surrounding area.
