Just spent an amazing weekend taking the tool course with my brother. Instructor led by Josh and Spencer. Every aspect of learning how to blacksmith using both coal and propane forges was awesome. I would recommend any of these to enthusiasts, hobbyists and amateurs alike. Josh is a master blacksmith with a great range of skills.

An absolutely fantastic experience! The instruction was clear and easy to follow, with plenty of help and hints to keep you on track. The environment was relaxed, with lots of time given to accomplish each step in the process so learning is easy and enjoyable! I plan on pursuing this as a hobby and perhaps more. Highly recommended, DM

My husband and I took the knife making class. I made the kitchen knife and he made the bush craft knife...must admit the bush craft is awesome! Josh is a wonderful instructor. Starting with a steel rod, we forged, hammered, shaped, ground, heat treated and sharpened our knives. Highly recommend this experience!

I had an amazing time at Van's Blacksmithing. I did the Bushcraft Chopper course and my knife turn out better than I could have imagined. This was my first experience with blacksmithing but it certainly won't be my last! Highly recommended for the expert instruction and the incredible knowledge shared by the instructor.

I highly recommend Vans Blacksmithing. Josh is great guy and an excellent instructor. He provides all the information required for the participants to complete their project and l walked away with a sense of accomplishment. I'm very pleased with the Danish Kitchen Axe that I made.

I just took a course to forge-weld a Scandinavian axe. It was an amazing experience: Josh Vans, the smith and instructor, is a first rate teacher. He explained forge safety, the work plan with illustration, and all the materials and processes. Within 7 hours, I went from no experience to having a completed, functional axe. Josh provided all the instruction and assistance, but let me do the majority of the work to maximize my learning. I can't recommend Vans Blacksmithing enough.
