To real estate lawyers: by recommending this company you are failing in your duty of care to your clients. Records will be sent on request. Leaking roof in our new home. Regular insurance covered the leak. Someone had removed all the rafters and covered it up. City issued an order to remedy and a letter in conjunction saying there was no permit. FCT denied the claim because the order said \unsafe\(section 15.9) and not \unpermitted\ (section 8.1). Lots of back and forth. City said they never issue orders under section 8 for old construction, only active or recent projects. General Insurance Ombudsman said we had a case but we would have to take it to court. We didn't have the resources or experience. This is how FCT can exclude latent defects. Please don't send your clients here. They engage in deceptive marketing and willful negligence. Young family, first home, new baby. We lost everything, went bankrupt and struggled for 8 years to get back on our feet.

These guys are jokers. Nothing but hassle. They blew two closing dates and took their sweet time depositing proceeds to my account after closing. Considering the cost, you're just as well going with with your own lawyer, which I will do next time without hesitation.

I received notice that the previous owner did not pay the water bill and as a result 1460.00 was being transferred to my property taxes. I contacted my lawyer and they reached out the previous owners solicitor. No response was received so they said I had to pay and get reimbursed via title insurance. I contacted FCT and asked if I had to pay first-they said no-just fill out the online app. Luckily my lawyer had included all the necessary documents and the process took less than 15 minutes. I submitted the claim on Jan 23, 2021, and received approval on Jan 26, 2021- payment will be issued within 7 days. If this changes I will update my review.

Spoke to claims department about a commercial claim. This is simply for a water bill from a previous owner. I purchased title insurance for them for 750 dollars. I come to find out that the previous owner who owes 400 dollars worth of water bill is usually supposed to be covered on title insurance. There reason is that RESIDENTIAL is covered but COMMERCIAL is not. I asked him why this is he mentions the \Dynamics are different\. I asked him to explain and his reason was something related to actually reading the meter is slightly different between the two. Im not sure how reading a meter makes a difference? If its title insurance the previous owners bill should be covered. Given this i have notified by lawyers firm (Composite of about 10 lawyers) to longer deal with this type of company. I will also be writing a letter to there department head if there is any capability of making a change. (Which after speaking to this guy in claims department i will censor his name- will likely get no where)

Had these guys handle our mortgage transfer to a new lender and the experience was TERRIBLE. They waited till the last minute to process things and only paid attention to my file when I started inquiring directly over phone/email. At which point they realized that they were very late on my file and expedited the process. While they finally did get the job of setting up the signing appointment and paying out my current lender done in time, it was very last minute and nerve wracking. The cherry on top? Andrea Tait (Title Officer assigned) and her FCT platinum team have 0 training in customer service and are EXTREMELY RUDE over the phone. AVOID FCT at all costs where possible!

Bad Warranty

Very bad experience with FCT Home Warranties. I had one on my home, and when I went to make a claim realized is covers almost nothing, as per their terms and conditions. Very very difficult to make a claim, I'd recommend talking to a Lawyer before trying.

Lousy as hell. They cannot do their job. Zero customer service skills. Cannot answer a simple question. Will not move forward any file or transaction without being probed several times. Simply a braindead bunch.
