So sad that Dundurn Castle is closed right now because of COVID. This is one of the most beautiful buildings in all of Hamilton. I can't wait until it opens again.

Wow what an amazing place to visit!! My friend invited my family to visit the castle because I had never knew about it. Wow what a hidden gem. We had the private tour which is what I’d suggest to those interested. It was amazing to experience and learn about how the culture was years ago (1855) for sure will be making a trip again with my family.
Beautiful.....so old yet so keenly built....if u wana go for a half day trip without getting tired but still feel pleasant & relaxed then this will be a good visit. Also, make sure to visit the Spencer Smith park near by...totally good combo!!!!!
My niece and I wanted to do something fun and Dundurn was close and looked interesting. The house is super cool with a really nice guided tour. House is amazing and you really get to feel how this family lived in the 1800's. Parking was free and the tour was cheap. Tour was about 45 minutes long and she did a great job. Hard to pick a favorite part, as it was all beautiful, inside and out. I have since been back with some friends for a second tour, and they all have the same feedback...well worth it!
Very well looked after historic structures and gardens. Guided tour and its not too expensive. Your admission covers the Dundurn manor (castle), war museum and the gardens. The manor is furnished and well maintained in era authentic furniture and knick knacks. The tour guide was very knowledgeable of the history of the area, structures and inhabitants. The war manor is small but has a lot of artifacts. There are activities for kids and the rest of the family. This is worth the visit if you're at Dundurn. The garden is also quite impressive. The was a gardener there who was also very knowledgeable and helpful. You can pick some of the fresh fruits and vegetables as indicated by the staff and signs. We would recommend this stop on your journey. Allow 3 to 4 hours to see everything. You can squeeze it all in 2 hours if you're tight on time.
Great place for a tourist outing. We walked around the grounds of the castle, it's quite something to see in person. The 37 for family pass is a little pricey in my opinion and we didnt see any ghosts. But the tour was good and so was the guide. You can walk around the grounds without paying.
Gorgeous sights, lots of heritage to see. I love that the stables were kept original as well despite half of them being changed to fit a gift shop in. The gardens had to be my favorite part. Stunning to still see folks working on it and they always have some kind of goodie. My seven year old got to bring home Egyptian onions on our last visit to plant in his little garden at home. Lots of room to roam, and lots to see.
Beautiful Sunday so decided to take a drive to Dundurn Castle. We got lucky and the entrance fee was waived that day to the Castle and the Military Museum. The Cock Pit was open for viewing also and it's only open about 4 times a year! It was enjoyable for us adults and had enough interesting features for my 11 year old Grandson.
