For a while I lived only 450 metres from Adam's Footware Plus and it was during this time that I made use of his services (about a month ago). So the first great thing was that it was only a five minute walk away from my house. Second, I came to Adam with a unique repair. I have a pair of hand-made moccasins that I use as indoor slippers. At some point unknown to me the top of the left slipper tore from about the mid-point of my foot down to the toe. I showed it to Adam and he was quick to say he could fix it. I guess I was surprised because so many shoes these days aren't made out of leather (to my knowledge), but a good shoe repair man can work with many different materials. He even offered to clean my slippers, which I declined because they are just my indoor slippers and I don't care too much how they appear. Adam charged me 15 cash for that repair, which I was able to pick up the next morning. A couple things about the place that might throw some people, or put them off. Adam's business is in a shabby row of buildings on Main Street and even once you go inside, things look a bit...chaotic and unorganized. After Adam said he could fix my slippers he had me right down my name and phone number on a pad of paper, and he called me the next day to inform me my sipper had been repaired and I could pick it up. Don't expect a tidy area, uniformed associates, a cash register, or an email receipt. Do expect quality work from a skilled shoe repair man.
