Nice place on a hike, most easily accessible from Crane Lake Portage trail which starts at south end of Ash Lake.

It’s hard to tell what kind of structure it was. The proximity to the high power line to the west may indicate that it was used as a way station to keep squatters off the easement land allocation. (usually 30 meter wide) The concrete fireplace indicates that it was probably built in the last century. Little else from the pics to indicate other information about its use.
