In 1950 I served in HMCs Swansea it had similar depth charge mountings as sackville I manned a thrower during exercises and was able to explain the devise that launched a depth charge first time I was afraid I would lose my hand so I tried to switch to my left hand but the gunnery PO saw me and after a few curses made me do it correctly no problem but I was still scared u723856

A great walk into history. Everything on this shop is kept in good condition. It feels like sailers still running back and forth for telegrams.

We had a blast on this boat. The staff were friendly. It cost nothing. Just a donation.

Great history but most info buttons do not work (English and French)

This was a really interesting way to spend an hour. Lots of sections restored and set up to how it would have been when in operation. My only complaint was that many of the speakers that were supposed to describe the areas we viewed were no working, and there was limited written information to explain what you were looking at. In the areas that had staff, it was great because they were very knowledgeable and explained. Admission is by donation.

Not as well signed as the HMCS Haida, but does have guided tours. Staff very pleasant.

A great piece of history. You can get into, on and around the ship to see much of what it was like to serve on a corvette at sea during World War 2. We visited her in October of 2017 and had a great time. When we came back in June 2018, she was away being refitted. The website says she will be back at her berth in late summer 2018. Worth a visit, especially after she is back in tip top shape.

HMCS Sackville is a wonderful opportunity for everyone to appreciate the history of our Navy and the circumstances in which so many of our Sailors served. Thank you to all the Trustees and Volunteers who make this possible. If it isn't already, it "should be" number one on your list of places to visit on the Halifax waterfront!
