I am new to Halifax and this was one of the first places I visited when I arrived. I must say, they probably have the BEST ice cream I have ever had here. I think there is only chocolate and vanilla but they do it right. They also offer this delicious chocolate sauce for the top - just be sure to eat it quickly, or the sauce will freeze from the cold ice cream. You can also purchase the chocolate to create your own ice-cream with chocolate sauce at home (we microwave our chocolate discs). For some reason, it's never as yummy as Choco cafes. Unimpressed by the coffee across the street, I started coming here for coffee as well. Delicious drip coffee and fantastic lattes! They have a reputation for their hot chocolate too, but I haven't tried it yet. Be sure to grab a coffee loyalty card - buy 5, get 1 free. Prices here are pretty reasonable. The staff remembered my partner and I after just a few visits - probably because we were one of the few stopping in for ice-cream throughout the winter! I always appreciate the attentive and incredibly kind staff. It's in a fantastic location as well. I will definitely be back. Again and again. Update: 5 stars because the staff here are just way too sweet. Also, the coffee is delish!

Lovely quiet cafe. Sandwich and tea were wonderful as well as the small gift-bag like chocolates. Was dissappointed at a lack of organics. Especially at how much cheaper this option this would be as opposed to just straight garbage or recycling. Server was nice but not friendly.
I previously gave this place 5 stars, the hot chocolate was rich and creamy, it was delicious. I went back recently after not being there for quite some time and was disappointed. The flavour isn't as rich and strong as it once was.
One of my favorite places in downtown Halifax. The staff is always super friendly and accommodating. The atmosphere is great for families too.
While initially intrigued by the cafe and the outlook, it was quite disappointing. Choco Cafe sells affordable chocolate against their competitors at a much lower quality. I ate a peanut butter cupcake, YET it was actually a muffin with peanut butter icing???? I was not impressed by this. To be frank it tasted as if they bought a bulk set of muffins and just put peanut butter icing on top. So disappointing. The only reason it received two stars is due to its price point.
Wish they had longer hours in the evenings... I still like it and enjoy going there for the chocolate fondue... Wish they offered more fruits then the pastries
