I am going to give this place 5 stars as I have not had a severe depressive episode since I left almost 2 years ago. Dr. Lalonde and his staff were very good. The combination of individual therapy, and group combined with programs like art and horticulture worked for me. I had my bumps, not always agreeing with some of the feedback and not being accepted by some of fellow patients, but in the end it turned out well. A lovely setting for healing. The food is excellent and the chef always had a smile. My only issues a - i needed a few more sessions on certain topics (there were a few booking issues) - follow up was poor, a new separate therapist with no continuity or ongoing connection. My advice to anyone considering the program. You have to put 100% into this. Don't spend the evenings watching TV. Hello to folks at Homewood

The Residence health care team go above and beyond with their care. You have to want to get better and put in the work too. Their expertise gave me my life back. I would not be alive today if it was not for this facility. Thank you

There were some really good therapists there, but the experience certainly wasn’t worth the money AT ALL. They keep putting off the therapy you’re supposed to get and you spend most of the day on your own doing nothing. They do not have things running properly. They shouldn’t have opened the way it is. The nurses pretty much messed up my medication every time. One of my therapists was always late for my sessions saying she had some photocopying to do. Really, now, you’re not ready for our session? I’m here paying big money for this stuff. Then the photocopying stuff was just a bunch of stuff pulled off the Internet(Sorry Michelle). She never really got into it with me. I honestly don’t think she was qualified. She was a very nice person though. Eddie was excellent though. Very good therapist. Dr. Lalonde is nice, but he tends to simply drug you up. He also seems irritated. I don’t think he wants to be there. It’s great for people who need to socialize and talk with their peers though. If you have a ton of money, want to stay in a nice place, socialize for a while and maybe learn some interpersonal skills it will be fine. You don’t come out a renewed person though, so save your money if you don’t have it. The only thing I realized is that I’m less mentally ill than I thought! I felt like I was getting looked upon as a ‘mental patient’ thougH. Weird feeling. You definitely have to get used to that and accept it for the stay. There were some great ppl there though, I must say. It’s just not running properly.

This is not covered by OHIP. Only rich people can get help here. It's not for everybody unfortunately. Broke my heart.......
