I’m very disappointed with Movati Athletic Gym on Stone Road in Guelph. The equipment is unmaintained, almost always broken, worn out and not serviced. The gym atmosphere and decor resemble a library or office space. The mirrors are placed in areas not reflecting where the other gym equipment is. The music is absolutely horrific, there is absolutely no motivation to continue working out at this gym. Most of the google reviews are done by staff members, I can easily recognize the faces and names of quite a few of them. FAKE! If this was my first gym to workout in I would never workout again! Please save your time and money and go to another gym!

Having heard great things about the club from friends, I signed up as soon as they opened back up again and I have not been disappointed! Katie signed me up, she was warm and friendly, knew her stuff, and gave me a great tour of the facilities, which got me excited for my first visit! Katie and Erika are two faces (well, with the mask I guess it's just eyes?) I love seeing when I walk through those doors, always making me feel welcome! I signed up for a personal training consult because it had been a while. Phil assessed my fitness level and didn't make me feel pressured or pushed into buying some sessions. Ib has been my trainer and has helped me feel confident in my form and program! The gym staff are very good at making sure the facilities are clean and that patrons/staff are wearing masks. Highly recommend Movati!!
Amazing gym that I was able to use for free for staying at the Delta across the way. Its clean and has friendly staff. So many cardio and weight machines. Part of the gym is female only if that is what you prefer. I was unable to use all of the amenities such as the pool, sauna and showers. This gym also offers group classes, but unfortunately I was unable to try as time didn't allow it. I recommend this gym over the gym inside the Delta hotel.
I've been a member for over 2 years and I absolutely love it! Very open and spacious environment, and class times any time I want. I especially am a fan of the variety of yoga classes they offer, all throughout the day and evening. Thanks to the club for putting my current membership on hold during this time, as my schedule is different from prior to the closure and I'm not able to make it in right now. So helpful and I so appreciate that! :)
Expensive club with infrastructure problems and approximately 67 CAD/month membership. Classes are good and numerous but one gets used to them as there is no diversity in the class program, pool is decent at least in male section, not so much in female section (commented to me). Steam room and hot tub sometimes do not work (especially Steam Room/ Hammam). In short, good gym with probably most numerous and fancy features in Guelph, but qualify/price is worse than competition.
On several occasions, I have heard Movati be referred to as the “Beautiful People’s Gym”. If beautiful people means: always being greeted warmly at the front desk with big smiles and happy people that genuinely want to know how you are doing; group instructors that care about your well-being, encourage you to do your best, and want you to have a good time while working out; personal trainers that set you up for success, help you achieve your fitness goals, but primarily want you to feel good about yourself; a cleaning staff that takes pride in their work and ensures the club is in pristine condition throughout the entire day, and especially during these uncertain Covid times, is constantly sanitizing and keeping people safe; a management team with the highest level of professionalism, that puts its members first, and goes above and beyond in order to see that everyone is happy and well taken care of; and members that push and motivate, care and cheer each other on, and in some instances, become not just gym friends but actual friends, then yes, Movati Guelph is a gym of Beautiful People. I have been a member at Movati Guelph for almost a decade now and it is, without a doubt, the best gym to be a part of. If you have trepidation about joining, just join. I guarantee you won’t be disappointed. The culture of fitness, but more importantly, the culture of caring about one another is what separates Movati Guelph from all other gyms. They are the gold standard of what a gym should be.
Best gym and athletic club in the area without a doubt! The way they have handled things since reopening is by far the most efficient and effective I have seen with club members health and safety as the top priority. The staff is friendly and knowledgeable and I highly recommended checking this place out if you’re looking for a relaxed and easy going workout environment!
When I was a member, the hot water was turned off for weeks in the winter, this happened more than once. A very poorly managed gym.
