We've brought our toddler here twice for a hair cut. The cuts have been pretty good, our only gripe is that the length is left a little long so were forced to either trim it at home (which we are fine with) or make another appointment in 2-3 weeks which, during a pandemic, isn't ideal. They're very accommodating, and we appreciate that. Just wish they'd consider length while cutting.

I was looking to get a balayage done and due to this location's great reviews, I decided to try it out recently. I have virgin black hair so this was a huge commitment for me so I wanted to make sure I went to a professional place to get it done. The staff was friendly and the actual environment of the salon was really nice however my hair did not turn out how I wanted it to. I had asked for an ashy brown balayage (with reference pictures) and my end result was more of a light brown colour. It wasn't bad but I was just disappointed that it didn't look like what I wanted. I let my disappointment go and eventually got used to the hair but after just one wash, my hair looked so brassy that it basically just looked orange. After looking at my hair even closer, I noticed several hairs that were just blonde without any of the hair dye on it as well. For 300 I expected to have gotten what I asked for and to have been able to keep the colour for at least 3 washes before it started turning brassy. I've gotten so frustrated to the point that I will be dying my hair back to my original colour after less than a week of having it dyed. I cannot believe I spent that much money for my hair to turn out like this and I am very disappointed about it.
I have pretty thick Asian hair and I'm always nervous about getting it cut short, but this is the best short haircut I've ever gotten! (This is the second time I've been to la luma salon). Even after washing and drying my hair, it still looks great! Andrew, the master stylist and owner of the salon, seemed to use different techniques on my hair than other stylists, which worked like magic! Thank you Andrew! I'd definitely would recommend this salon to anyone!
Can't say enough good things about Mallory & the awesome work she does! From the first time I went to her when she was a student to now, she always does a great job. I know that colouring & cutting my crazy thick hair is no easy task ;) thanks so much Mallory & La Luma for always helping me meet my hair goals.
I drive from Stratford to get my hair done at LaLuma Academy. Today I had another memorable experience even with Public Health measures due to COVID19. I was very impressed with the staff's calm demeanour, the seamless transition from me entering the salon, the salon chair, and leaving. They are always so knowledgable and today I got lowlights. First time I went I had Sebastian absolutely wonderful went home happy with my hair feeling soft. Had him book my next appointment for 8 weeks later. I had to reschedule due to my work schedule. I made sure that my appointment was with Sebastian. I go in he is not there are they have a different hairstylist do my hair for MORE MONEY than I was supposed to pay. They inform me it was because Sebastian moved up a level good for him, would be willing to pay additional for him but not this random person. I am worried about things shutting down so I said go ahead and cut it. Shampoo, condition, and cut all great normal level of quality I expect. Hairstyling however was not I asked for it to be curly like my natural hair is apparently that was a huge mistake. She put so much product in it my hair felt greasy and unwashed. Also the finished product looked stringy and left me like an wet poodle. Shall not be returning any time soon/
I got my haircut here and I loved it! The entire experience was great. They really know what they’re doing and are super sweet and want t make sure you’re truly happy with what you’re getting! They are very thorough, and careful. It’s also a very good value for the price! I highly recommend this place, go go go
This was my first time coming here, the service and experience I got here was great! I would definitely recommend Taylor! He was super friendly and outgoing and gave me an amazing haircut; exactly what I was looking for. He took his time getting every detail right and made sure I was happy with what I got. Will definitely come back again!
