When they planned a Go transit stop, i think they missed out on parking facility on the checklist. Charges a good chunk of and can't even buy some more space for car parking. you can't be sure if you get a spot even if you are trying to catch 6am train to Toronto.

while the station is pleasing. that's about the extent of the offerings. the shelters for Guelph Transit are useless and the roof of the awning they are under leak. the seats are usually wet and the collection of street folk are the big entertainment. Unless you are taking GO transit or Greyhound, more satisfaction will be found jumping in the Speed River.

If you live outside of Guelph and wish to use Go Transit to travel to Toronto, Go Transit’s Trip Planner web-based service does not report the parking nightmare that will likely be encountered. Parking close to the Go Central station in Guelph historically has been almost non-existent. There are 12 spaces provided by Go Transit at 72 Farquhar Street, Guelph. Spaces fill up by 07:00. The City of Guelph does operate a few parking lots (Baker Lot, Wyndham Lot and MacDonnell Lot) within a 5-minute walk and offer pay-as-you-park, vending-type machines. Other lots in the area require a monthly permit and as such, are not useful to one-time, day travellers. The City of Guelph parking staff claim that most lots in the downtown area are full during the peak hours (10:00 - 3:00 PM) and it may take up to 30 minutes to secure a parking space.
