Amazing atmosphere amazing pool tables. They do not accept health cards as a form of Identification leading to half of my group of friends not even being able to order a drink. Never have I ever seen that in my life. Believe it or not, not everybody has a driver's license or another form of ID. If you call service Canada you will find out that health cards can be used as ID you just cannot request it as it has personal information on it. You are a bar and it is your job to be informed on the rules. If this is more a personal rule then I will not be returning
Historical church setting, great wings! Prices are good and daily specials. 8 pool tables bottom level 1 upper. A handful of tables to sit at and eat plus a bar with about 8 stools. Very low lighting and a place more comfortable for men it seemed.
I've been handled rudely here before but kept coming back because it is a nice place. They keep it tidy and clean, food is good. The ladies (generous to call them that) at the bar are beyond unfriendly. I was addressed sarcastically in front of friends. They kicked out a friend because he didn't have ID on him (not apologetically, but in a self-righteous way of course). We decided to leave then and they wouldn't let us pay separately despite asking repeatedly we weren't given the light of day.
Friendly atmosphere. Music and TVs and pool tables. Menu contains simple bar food items. Wings are good. Fun place to drop in for a game of pool and a beer. Very casual.
The amount of positive reviews for this place are shocking! They must all be from their tried and true regulars because their staff (and I believe she was the owner) are incredibly rude for someone in the hospitality industry. Be prepared to feel like you've crashed a party you were not invited to. Grimsby is an amazing place to live, but there are small pockets of individuals like here that do not give that charming small town feel...but the outsiders not welcome kind. Shoot down to one of the other great watering holes, the visit here simply isn't worth it.
Very nice casual place to meet your buddies or for a game of pool. The chicken wings are fabulous.
I went to Different Strokes tonight to reunite with some friends. We Intended to play pool and reserved a table, but were too caught up in our conversation to play. We finished our pitcher and decided to go to somewhere else for a meal. We told the bartender that we didn't end up playing any pool and asked for it to be taken off our tab. The place was virtually empty so we didn't think it would be a big deal. She refused, and charged us the 15 dollars. She said "It's not my fault you didn't play". Left the place feeling like we got ripped off.
