We're a Toronto-based start-up that wants to see everyone in Canada wearing a mask as part of our national efforts to 'flatten the curve'. To do this, we have developed a model through which for every mask sold, we donate one to those in need through our charitable partners. Why are we doing this? - We want to support Canadian businesses, keep people employed, and do our best to contribute to our local economy. - We want to ensure that everyone has access to a mask. - We all share in the responsibility to try and stop COVID-19, and mask-wearing a step in the right direction. Research shows that wearing a mask protects those around you - which is especially important when we do not know who or how many asymptomatic carriers there are. - Health professionals are already facing shortages, and we need to save the PPE for them. So we are creating resources to help ensure that front-line workers have full access to all the PPE available. Who do we donate to? We currently have charitable partners that we donate through, however, our main targets for donations are those who are least likely to be able to access masks for themselves - this includes food banks, homeless shelters, etc. How are we making a difference? One of our key differentiators in this market is that we donate at least one mask for each one we sell. Our customers have the option to donate more masks than they buy, and we do this in the hope that we are able to donate two or three times as many masks as we sell. Nothing is more important to us than getting masks to everyone in Canada.
