If I could give this hospital 0 stars, I would. My grandmother had the misfortune of having to come to this hospital for care. She was diagnosed with covid-19, and also has Alzheimer's. During her time here, the staff of the hospital were extremely negligent, they miscommunicated greatly, and they failed to provide virtual technology for her to communicate with her family. Every time staff were contacted, we were given a different answer on her status. One would say she’s stable, one would say she is having a very difficult time and is in critical condition, and another even complained about my grandmother being difficult and trying to remove her IV and face mask countless times. When we told the nurse that this behaviour was common due to her cognitive condition, the nurse admitted to not even knowing my grandmother has Alzheimer’s disease. The lack of empathy, care, and medical support from Georgetown Hospital is outstanding. I wouldn't suggest anyone to go to this hospital - especially someone elderly who needs special care.

I just want to thank all the drs and nurses today it’s been a very stressful 3 days my toddler hadn’t opened her eyes for the past 2 days and just a snowball of other things they were able to get her eyes opened! I’m so so grateful she’s on the mend thank you again to everyone I don’t remember the names of was this afternoon xo

Just leaving the ER and the service was impeccable. The triage nurses and doctors were empathetic, warm, kind and attentive. I’m so used to the callous behaviours of credit valley that it almost took me by surprise when met with kindness.

Update: Not satisfied from mgmt response. My grandmother has Alzheimers and had gotten sick with COVID19. Was admitted to the hospital on Feb. 19. We explained her situation and how due to her circumstances she requires 24 hour assistance. After their much given false hopes we received many broken promises. We were given conflicting statements of her progress to the point that we were told she will be taking her last breaths, which is not the case. The amount of stress and trauma our family has suffered in the past few days is beyond being unbelievable. I would not suggest anyone to bring their loved one to this hospital.

My grandmother was diagnosed with Covid-19 and was taken to this hospital for treatment. Also my grandmother suffers from Alzheimers. We decided to take her to this hospital because she has been there before and we were allowed to send one of our family members to stay with her. but upon arriving they took her away and then informed us afterwards that none of us cant stay with her or see her. It is extremely important in her condition that she has support with her at all times but not only was she denied support, she was also not presented with an interpreter to help her communicate with the staff. We tried countless times, pleading with them to allow one of us to stay with her or allow us as her interpreter or even arrange a video call with her but to no avail. Im appalled at the staff's lack of empathy. instead of trying to make this situation less stressful for the patient and their loved ones, they are adding to our stress with their misinformation regarding her condition and overall affecting the major decisions we have to make regarding her health.
