This is a great local place to shop. Always great deals, and one of my favourite places to buy meat for the grill as they slice the steaks and chops nice and thick. Always a great price on chicken legs. Plus, my wife and I both work in Burnside, so it's very convenient for us. Last year, they had a great deal on fresh mussels. Usually when I buy mussels from the 2 big grocery chains, I have to throw a third of them away that are dead or broken. I only had to throw away a small handful of the ones I bought at GD. I highly recommend this store!

Bought chicken thighs that were not traditional chicken thighs, full of bones and veins. I suspect they are scamming people by leaving more 'junk' in their cuts to up the weight and make the consumer pay more. When I asked them about the issue over their Facebook page, they ignored my comment and blocked me rather than addressing the issue. I was giving them the benefit of the doubt by reaching out, but their actions of removing the question and ignoring it tells me that they know what they are doing and that they are purposefully trying to keep people from knowing. After 10 years of shopping at this establishment, I will no longer be doing so and encourage anyone who does to be VERY WARY about what you pick up. They are in it for the money not the quality of their product.
We drive down from Ardoise Hants County because the meat is of such good quality and a good price. We find there is such a turn over that the fruit and vegetables are nice and fresh. We only shop there every 2 weeks but love the sales and the staff have always been very pleasant and helpful. I highly recommend GD Meat Market and my friends also make the drive to buy their meat and other groceries.
