I played golf at the French River Golf Course from 1950 - 1960 when I was a kid. My father, Clarence W. Honey, owned the course and I assisted the greens keeper, Gib Stevens. I have played golf over a good part of this world and will have to say the French River Golf Course is a charming and absolutely challenging layout. When I played there, the only travel venue was by boat. The course was originally built by the Seagram family in the 1920's as their private golf club. And, now that it is located in the French River Provincial Park is a great honor. To shoot par or better is a great test with its tight fairways and rolling greens. The scenery is magnificent and hitting your second shot of the eighth hole is like floating into a concert hall surrounded by tiers of birch trees. It is a great experience and of course you will meet the wonderful people of French River. I now live in San Francisco, California, but living in French River and playing the great game of golf at the French River Golf Club is something I will never forget. Peter C. Honey
