Called Quinte Animal Control regarding a cat that had been roaming the halls of the apt building I live in. Also out back of the apt building climbing onto my balcony and chasing all of the wildlife. The cat has no collar and is a complete nuisance. A young boy was outside looking for his cat and told me which apt # they lived in just in case it was found. Animal control was very nice and told me they would go give a notice to the owner and that if I continue to have issues to call her back. Later that same day I heard a man out calling for the cat so I assumed he got the notice. However, the cat is out again causing chaos. I called ba k as instructed and the woman told me she spoke to the person in that apt and they claimed not to own a cat. She said a man from a different apt did say his had accidentlaly gotten out (likely the guy calling it) but she says that because I cannot provide where rhe owner lives there really is nothing that can be done. This is very disappointing as I don't feel cats dhould be allowed to roam free without a collar etc......i thought by law an officer could pick up stray animals however the woman from Animal Control told me no she cannot do that. So what else is there to do??? Frusterating beyond belief as I felt like it was being turned around on me what about the cluless owners!?

We had a racoon on our property with a rat trap on his paw and Animal Control come over twice to get him and finally was caught and was released from the trap and set free. Thank you Animal Control for helping!
