I ordered the mac & cheese for delivery ... The price of this item on the menu is 18.50 (before any taxes or fees). Expensive, I thought to myself, but I figured it would be a large portion. I figured wrong. What I received was the tiniest of tiny takeout containers I've ever seen. A child's portion. For this, I would have expected to pay around 9 - I would've been satisfied with that. But for 18.50 (almost 20 bucks!) I should have received TWO of these tiny containers full of mac & cheese, or one large container. Oh sure - you receive two little slivers of garlic bread with it. But this is not a 20 meal (after tax) ... no matter how gourmet they think it is. Total rip-off. With so many restaurants in Toronto and the competition fierce … It's not like there's a shortage of places to eat. I'll take my 18.50 tax elsewhere.

We came to this spot because we liked the big patio and how it was set up. It is set up very nicely and also has fires and heaters inside the tents. However, service was terrible. For a prime day like Saturday, the staff were very slow. It took us 30 minutes before we got our first round of drinks and the excuse was they only had one bartender. The couple beside us only had water, and they were seated before us for quite some time. They also seemed frustrated with the level of service. Also, most importantly, I would recommend that you please train your waitress staff with some etiquette. When waiting for a customer to pay the bill, please provide some courtesy and privacy and not stand hovering and staring at the machine to see how much tip the customer is entering. It was really uncomfortable and awkward. It definitely left a bad taste for everyone at our table who witnessed it. It’s too bad. The hot drinks were well made, food was good, and we liked the atmosphere but the poor and slow service left much to be desired. We likely won’t be returning back here.
I went to Fox on John and the vibe was just amazing. Darren and Charlie were very helpful. I ordered the butter chicken pizza, it was so fresh and delicious. It was a great experience! I will definitely come back soon. ️
the fox is an amazing spot with great food and people service. so many things I would recommend, like the chicken crunch sandwich w/ sweet potato fries or the 1 lb of there wings sauced up w/ hot honey garlic or the buffalo chicken nachos
We visited the Fox on John yesterday before our show at the Princess of Wales theatre. It was 12:30pm on a Saturday. We waited for a bit to be seated. The service was quite slow. the restaurant was half empty. I ordered the club sandwich. The bread the sandwich was made with was hard as rock. It tasted stale and it ended up scraping the roof of my mouth. I would have let the server know had he checked in on us. My husband got the breakfast and he said it was tasteless. Our table didn’t have salt or pepper so that may have helped. Our plates were collected and we were not asked how our meals were. The bill was dropped off and we quickly paid to get out of there. The food looked a lot better than it tasted. It was disappointing. Could have been a better experience had we had the service we hoped for. I have to assume our experience was isolated so it may be good for others. We won’t go back though.
