I originally moved into this building when it was Varsity. The staff was friendly, maintenance was on top of things, utilities were reasonable. Everyone who lived there loved it. However shortly after moving in they changed ownership to Foundry. DO NOT LIVE AT FOUNDRY. They replaced all the furniture with new items, which you think would be good expect the beds were a hazard. The new beds were longer than the old by about a foot, but they did not replace the mattress. We would constantly fall through until 7 months later when they replaced the mattresses with the kind you would have in prison. Its more of a mat really. What the building really needed was new appliances. They never worked. They also switched utility companies and started charging us 200 a month each, not just for the unit. They eventually stopped charging everyone but never reimbursed those who got scammed by the new company. I lived there for over 2 years. I always a paid rent on time and than a year later (and what prompted me to finally change the 5 star review I gave VARSITY) they emailed me my FINAL notice saying I owe 300. What about a 1st notice? I’ve paid thousands of dollars to this company over the years. You think I intentionally didn’t pay 300. I would’ve if they had sent an email telling me instead of waiting a year and sending it directly to a collection agency. I am now a student with a poor credit score. I recommend you choose to live at the new Varsity town houses across the street. Its newer, just as close, and they are reasonable. Save yourself the headache.

Pros: Location and your own bathroom are the only positives about living here. Cons: Roommates are matched using RoomSync, however it is not guaranteed that you'll be all living in the same unit. In my case, I matched with four other great, compatible roommates but one of the four got moved somewhere else. The rest of us moved in with a stranger who didn't even go to the school, and woke up dead-early in the morning for his FT job. Internet is neither fast nor reliable. It is also poorly configured/managed, so one person in the unit can clog the apartments connection (see pics). When I contacted facilities, they did nothing and marked the ticket as resolved. I signed my lease when cleaning service was advertised on their website. They removed it months later, and didn't say anything. I'd only recommend living here if you couldn't find a spot at Varsity just down the street.

Extremely disappointed. First of all this is supposed to be a student residence. However I see more drug addicts walking in and out of their units more than students. Secondly, my friend and I were supposed to receive referral credit. We were promised multiple times we would. However, when my friend signed it they refused to acknowledge that whatsoever. They(except ray) were extremely rude in the process of that as well. They went back on their own words and promise. I was planning to return back next year and resign my lease soon. However now, there's no way I'm returning to this place, and ill make sure my friend makes the same decision.

The move in was great, no problems whatsoever! Everyone in office was fantastic during the process and was super helpful in getting all my paperwork organized and done properly.

Foundry Simcoe is a nice place and very convenient, and the personal washrooms are good too. The units are modern and everything seems up to date. However, there are some key issues that can really make this place one to avoid. One of these issues are internet, which while they mention is \unlimited\ and \gamer approved\ and whatnot, I have constantly been unhappy with the service, as it is constantly fluctuating between usable and completely nonexistent. There is an issue where the system will automatically sign you out, and when you try to sign back in, a message of \Usage quota limit is reached\ will popup, not allowing you to sign back into the internet service. This is very ridiculous as it is not what we paid for, and the claims of \unlimited internet\ is just a lie. Another issue is replying to emails. There was a major issue with a friend of mine who was supposed to be my roommate. We mentioned it to Foundry, and they told us that they will look into it. A couple weeks passed by, and no change occurred. So, we emailed them again, only this time, they replied saying that it was not possible to get the issue fixed. Keep in mind that when we signed the lease, the office told us that we will be roommates for sure. As a whole, the physical experience of living in the space of Foundry is very nice and modern. However, the background services such as internet and replying to emails has been abysmal, and, I don't know about others, but these are key for living in an acceptable residence.
