I'm 10-15 years down the road from having gotten two leather jackets from Export Leather (back when they were on Spadina) and they are both still among the best leathers I see anyone else wearing. I love just as much as when they were new. They weigh twice as much as equivalent jackets, they're built so solidly. Yeah, you have to navigate the mood of the owner, but don't take it personally.
