I would love to properly dine at Elita and adjust this review. However, their hours seem wildly inconsistent, and do not match what is listed online. I visited on a Thursday at 11:30 am and both of the doors were locked, and the open sign was off, despite their google hours clearly stating 10 am as their opening time. Better luck next time; not a great starting point.

I called this location to make a reservation and was told that the restaurant was extremely busy yesterday but due to the weather they are slow and can accommodate us at any time. We arrived at 5pm to an empty restaurant, which isn't necessarily a bad thing but should be noted. We sat down and were immediately fed a 7 minute monologue about accommodating our every need and request. The restaurant atmosphere was unappealing. The appearance of both the chef and tables left me feeling like Covid protocols and basic restaurant hygiene wasn't being followed. The random assortment of dirty costume jewelry and books for sale around the restaurant added to this feeling. We briefly browsed the menu and decided to promptly leave without ordering. TLDR: You know that feeling you get when someone is trying to scam you? That's the overall vibe, and it's dirty.

Several good vegetarian/vegan options - we ordered alfredo pasta and vegetarian perogy, both dishes had decent portion size and tasted great. Bit old-fashioned interiors and the place smelled funny the day we visited, but owners are so very welcoming. It felt like the business needs support in these tough times, help with take-out/delivery if possible rather than not going at all because of ambience of the place.

Today was my first time eating at Elita. I ordered take out and both dishes were ready for pick-up quickly and the process was pleasant and friendly. Like others, I was unsure what to expect due to the very wide variety of dishes available and was pleasantly surprised with the flavor and quality. We ordered the seafood paella and the chef's special (a risotto dish). Everything tastes fresh and delicious. Will definitely be returning to try more of their menu.

This was our first time here and we will be back every time we come past Canmore. Amazing fresh food great service. Feel like a royal and ring the bell at your table for service. Love the homemade salsa
