I started violin lessons with Jennifer one year ago as a complete beginner and I could not have hoped for a better teacher. Jennifer's teaching style encourages the development of musicality and musicianship while ensuring a solid foundation of technique. I am so happy with the progress I have made this year and I know I owe much of it to her. Due to recent events, we have switched to online lessons and they have been very effective and continue to be a rewarding experience. If you are looking to start music lessons, I highly recommend Jennifer and the Music Makers Academy. My lessons with her are always the highlight of my week.

My daughter has taken music lessons from Jennifer Bustin for the past 20 years. She offers a comprehensive curriculum which covers technical work, music theory and performance pieces. An accomplished violinist herself, Jennifer is enthusiastic when teaching all abilities from beginners to advanced students. She also insures that all of her students are aware of music opportunities that may be of interest or help further her student’s ability such as festivals, formal exams and orchestras. Throughout many years of lessons, Jennifer as been reliable, organized and professional. I believe that learning to play the violin technically correct is so important. Jennifer ensures that her students receive all that’s necessary to became everything that they would aspire to be as a violinist. She is my daughter’s mentor both with violin and otherwise, as her kindness and encouraging personality is lovely.
We love having our music lessons with Ken and Jen. They are encouraging, approachable and highly skilled musicians that make each lesson tailored to our interests and abilities. Our understanding of our instruments and musical pieces have deepened because of their unique approach to teaching and engaging with their students. We look forward to seeing them each week to learn more!
I feel so fortunate to have Jennifer as my violin instructor! I have been taking music lessons from her for the last 4 years and she's definitely the best music teacher that I've ever had. She's very patient, encouraging, and has taught me so much about playing, practicing and music theory. As well, she's an incredible violinist and I can't believe sometimes that she's actually my music teacher.
