A caring doctor that exemplifies what excellent bedside manner is. If I come in for a nose surgery checkup but mention my ear is irritating me and it's unrelated, he still begins investigating the problem immediately and offers me help, advice or treatment. It could be something surgeon's would consider a menial task but rather than send me to a walk in clinic or a family doctor he alleviates the issue on the spot and never let's a patients quality of life be brought down in the slightest. He always goes above and beyond \treatment\ or \work\, as a patient I really feel like to him his job is a career that he has dedicated his life to and patient happiness feels truly valuable to him.

Went here and the man said he would only fix my nose if I quit smoking. A tough deal for me I said I'll try but now having major sinus issues.

I am surprised by the reviews I am reading here. I find Dr. Achtem to be thorough, patient and easy to talk to. I always have many questions and need further clarification and he is great at explaining things to me in common, easy to understand, ways. He performed a minor procedure at KGH and was professional there as well.

Dismissive, judgmental and completely discouraging, I hope he reads these reviews so he can see a psychologist or at least a life-coach to start making some personality changes. I'm incredibly disappointed by the lack of mutual care and respect which I receive from all of my other doctors. He should learn a thing or two about his secretary which is wonderful and the only saving grace from this office.
