God was smiling down on our mother when she entered the Delta View Care Facility in the Cascades Unit. She was there before COVID-19 became a name we had to learn to pronounce and spell. The building was very clean, wonderful homemade food but the best part of it all was the staff!! They were calm, kind, patient and gave away lots and lots of smiles. The true test came when COVID-19 slithered in and we could no longer see our loving mother for the time being. Families were stressed.... the world was stressed....but the staff never wavered in their compassion and care for everyone. I never worried once for our mother during these trying times - I knew we couldn’t have her in a better place. When her time was coming we were allowed to see her and spent an amazing couple of weeks by her side. We were allowed to come at our own convenience, we were fed and anytime we had questions the staff spent a bit of time answering them. We were there everyday but of course our mother waited one evening when we had gone home to join our dad. I was always anxious that mom would pass away alone but the staff assured us that there was staff by her side when she passed. Thank you Cascade’s staff and the wonderful front reception!! My wife and her sisters feel so lucky to have their Mother at Delta View. They can relax because they know that all the staff treat their Mom as is she was their Mom. All the staff greet her by name and give her hugs regularly. She receives all her medication and meals on time and always by friendly people, even if she is not in the best of moods. So nice to know that Mom is being looked after so well. I am writing this under my husbands post. My wonderful Mother passed at Delta View (Eagle Point) on Nov 14th. I could not have wished for a more caring place for her to spend the last stages of her life. She was always treated with love, compassion and caring, even on the days she was cranky. When she stopped eating the staff did everything to keep her clean and comfortable, speaking in low caring voices at all times to her. They also went out of their way to make my last days with my Mom easier by bring me a thermos of coffee, tea, ice water with lemon and cookies, along with all the hugs they gave me to keep me going. If you try hard you can possibly find something wrong with Delta View as you could with any place if you look really hard but I do not believe you will find anything to complain about the wonderful caring staff. There were many days over the last year that I wondered at their compassion, they smiled and hugged people behaving in ways that would have caused me to be more than frazzled. Thank you to everyone involved with this home.

It's been 2 weeks. Mom (99) is settling in better than we expected, and "really likes the food!". I was a bit dubious after reading a few negative reviews, but we are blown away with this place. Clean, spacious, friendly, helpful, cheerful. I haven't a bad word to say. Several of our friends have commented positively from their experience as well. We were very lucky to have landed here. Thanks to all the staff. And no, I'm not a shareholder! One year later, change of ownership, and still excellent. Wow.

Great and quiet place for seniors to stay. Also, very nice and clean ambiance with beautiful painted walls.

Beau the resident horse is the best draw there.

Sure this place looks great on the outside, and in it's opulent well cared for hallways with ornate statues. However once you get into the living units it's a different story. The paint is scuffed, furniture smells of urine, walls are dirty. Gran always had food on her face, and even up her nose when we went to visit. Wheelchair caked in food and dirt. Her shower was broken for weeks once. None of the care staff spoke unbroken English except a couple. Consider any other home before this one.

They said they have all qualities of life but when my mom got supposedly dementia they took her to the hospital and called me to get her things as they could not care for her and with a three day window and it was a long weekend and I lived out of town... 9 hours away. So she then sat in Surrey memorial hospital for over 4 months before they got her another place and she was wheel chair bound. It all boils down to money as delta view is beautiful but if your not rich they don't want you there. So basically at 90 yrs old she was too much work and a small income. I heard the staff taking someone on a tour when I was in the hall and they said people pay high to get a spot and when it runs out the gov takes over, what they didn't say is that is when they boot u out and get room for others, beautiful place but not sure if they gave meds properly either as my mom never had issues other than there and not in any other place...but she was low income so you decide and then they said buy we can't care for her....????? thought it had all levels of care ... Just be cautious if you love and care for your loved ones.
