North 40 Park Reserve. I think I saw it once online and it looked like a large dog-walking park. Then I took a closer look recently when choosing a place to visit on the weekend. It’s big! Upon entering there is a long street to park vehicles. There are a few maps that show the origin, history, and layout. It’s very cool to see the old map and then walk the streets of this once residential area. There are many people who come here to walk dogs. If you like dogs, eagles, planes, and/or history, you’ll like this park. Eagles are everywhere in the trees and circling above. Planes are constantly landing and taking off from Boundary Bay Airport across the way. History is everywhere in the posted signs, the streets you walk on, and the remnants of homes. Concrete pads, small ditches, decorative ditch walls, and stepping bridges, are all overgrown with grass. In some areas of the streets, mother nature breaks through to reclaim the land. There is also one structure still standing that was the base for the boilers to provide heat. Keep an eye out for an older gentleman riding a bicycle. He stopped to chat with us. He is one of the former residents! He had some great stories and said he bikes through the park every day. He will be happy to share his memories with you. If you want to venture off the streets (and one sidewalk!) bring boots as the grassy areas can get very soft and muddy. Daniel

If you have a dog, you must go here. You'll never want to leave. Abundance of history and old roads. Open fields, trees, and ditches...eagles a plenty and owls to view. Love it and so do the dogs

It's a pretty cool park. Used to be a military radio station base during the cold War and you can still see remnants of the buildings and roads that used to be there. Its a dog friendly park and there's always lots of dogs running around. Of course the main reason for going there is that there is literally hundreds of bald eagles there.

I love coming here. Steeped in history, you can see the remnants of the Vancouver Wireless Station. The entire place is a dog off-leash park. Great place to take the family canine.

This is a great Off Leash Dog Park but even if you're not a dog owner I'm sure you'd love to stroll through this historical landmark! BTW, all the dogs I met along the way we're exceptionally friendly well-trained and disciplined. It's Blackberry Season as I write this review, so you might want to bring a little bucket along and pick some! Delicious in fresh baked muffins.
