Network of forest trails. Many dog-walkers.

So grateful that we have places like this! You can easily spend an hour or two walking and exploring the trails here. Perfect for families, dogs are welcome. Terrain is mostly gently sloping trails among coniferous trees and ideal for fit seniors, though rocky and moderately steep in a few places. There are a few flat and wide trails that are mostly clear, but the park is not really wheelchair accessible. Bikes are welcome. Make sure you maintain situational awareness; it's quite easy to find yourself disoriented on the trails. Not to worry, though, if you keep following them, you'll pop out on the school field or a road sooner or later and you can find your way back to the parking lot with Google Maps. See if you can find the sand dunes and the creek!

Lovely in town walk. Main entrance accesses are from Highland Park, north Torrance Road (HP parking lot) or Brooklyn Elementary School area. Local folk's regularly use these trails - chances of meeting someone else is almost always good. It's a hill walk, so be prepared to do uphill climbing. If you get lost, just locate one of the several roads & head upwards, eventually you'll come to a entrance access. Trails are mostly used for walking dog's and mountain biking. It's location makes it a popular place, so please be aware when on these trails, bikes going downhill are often unable to stop - it's your responsibility to stay out of their way. HIGHLAND Park, Lazo Marsh & the Northeast Woods are all connected.
