Being from the UK I try not to compare fish and Chip shops here too harshly but I was a little disappointed with this one. It was advertised as being authentic and family tradition but it was not like a UK chippie. Haddock was lovely, but the chips were dark brown, dry and old tasting. I had ordered to pick up at a specific time so I am surprised at this. If you like medium cut dryer style that some bars have you may like them. Mushy peas : I usually love, but they were very off smelling and tasting. Coleslaw was nice. I don't usually add salt to much food but a chip shop really needs to salt their food, everything needed salt. The most phenomenal thing I tried was the Scottish pie which is made at Blue ridge meats now this is an epic Scottish pie!! If you want any sauces make sure to ask! It was tough to eat without.

The food was a one star but the friendly service was nice. My friends and I ordered the halibut and chips - halibut was decent and chips were awful. Also, they have expired ketchup in their condiments bar so watch out for that. It’s January 2021, ketchup expired in December. No wonder it tasted funny! EDIT: BB/MA stands for Best Before/Meilleur Avant, not sure why the owner is saying that’s the production date.

Best Fish and Chips in Collingwood. Only improvements would be if they did Battered Sausage, Kids Portions and English Chip Shop Curry Sauce. Edit (reply to response): Curry sauce, good news. Kids portions, your food is so good I don't want to share :p Battered sausages, I understand regarding the no-pork products, as for exploding obviously that would be bad. However it's a staple in every chip shop in the UK and they don't explode there.

An unexpected surprise. This little gem of an unassuming fish shop just topped my list of best fish and chip places in Ontario. Ordered the fisherman's platter with Haddock, fresh cut fries, 3 scallops and 3 shrimps with the standard sides of coleslaw and tartar sauce. When the platter came out, I was initially surprised to see the scallops and shrimp were battered as this would be something you'd expect to be butter sauteed with garlic. The menu didn't mention whether they were battered or otherwise so I gave them a try. I was very pleasantly surprised how good they were with the obvious home made batter used. Well worth the price of the meals. Waitress offered us homemade desserts and we opted for her scratch made key lime pie she attested to make herself. A pleasant dinner all around but suggest she ensure the pith is not included when squeezing the limes as that gives the pie a bitter aftertaste any cook/chef would recognize right away. But so thankful for the home made effort. Very refreshing in todays over processed world. The entire meal was quite delicious all around. I think as long as the owner continues to make his fare from scratch, Fish and Sips will be around for many years to come.

Always love this place. Very friendly staff and a nice clean and welcoming atmosphere. Well priced menu and has lots of options for a fish and chip place. The food is everything you would want if you’re craving some classic fish and chips!
