Ducks Unlimited first became involved in the area in 1953 when a rock and timber structure was constructed on the outlet which drains into the Red River. This water control structure was replaced in 1986. The wetland consists of 39 acres running parallel to the West bank of the Red River with multiple private landowners adjacent to the project. This project is noted for good potential waterfowl, songbird and wetland- dependent wildlife use.
