My mother has been happily and comfortably residing at Glacier Ridge for several years now, and we are indeed so grateful to the administration and staff for their amazing diligence and hard work! The level of care for residents and attention to detail toward ensuring that all of their needs are met, is most excellent! I would not hesitate to highly recommend Glacier Ridge to anyone who is looking for wonderful and extremely well run “home away from home” for their loved ones.

My mother chose Glacier Ridge approximately 5 years ago to live in after she had a severe stroke & could no longer live in her own home. The staff are very friendly & go out of their way to make everyone (residents & their families) feel welcome. I am a “snowbird “ & can leave knowing my mother is being taken care of. Without the care & dedication of the staff this would not be possible. Lisa (the manager) sends out weekly updates to the families on what is happening in the home along with the week’s menu. Thanks to all the staff for all they have done to keep Covid out of the home, it is greatly appreciated!

Our Dad, Lawrence Renshaw moved into Chartwell Glacier Ridge in Thunder Bay, Ontario on June 2019, the retirement home of his choice at the age pf 94. He lived in South Gillies, the summers were beautiful with lots to do along with fishing, hunting and tending to his yard. Family would visit him quite often. Then along came winters with little to do, family wasn't able to visit as often due to wintery icy roads. The cold long nights became very lonely. Dad had enough of cooking for himself and tending to housework. Once he was settled into his new home, he was met by friendly staff and began to meet others that lived there also. As time moved on we got to meet the wonderful people that looked after the residents. As a family we cannot say enough about the staff. They are cheerful, pleasant and always right there if anyone needs anything. If someone does not come down at meal time a pleasant person comes to their room to check to see if everything is alright. We know that our Dad is in good hands and never wants for anything. We also know that the smiles and chuckles from the staff and everyone is genuine. We can relax knowing he is in good hand. We cannot say enough about ALL the staff. Dad loves joking along with everyone. We know he is right at home. You can feel the warmth of their care for residents and families.

Chartwell Glacier Ridge is a great place for both residence and visitors. The staff are friendly and knowledgeable. The residence are offered a variety of recreation activities, included shopping and leisure trips in the city.
