It had been several years since I last tried acupuncture to treat nerve pain from a sore back. I'd had success with it before, but my practitioner was no longer around, so I searched for a new one and found Zen Acupuncture via Google. I read all of the (glowing) reviews and felt confident booking an appointment. I was exceptionally happy with the treatment I received from Alex. He seems passionate and knowledgeable about health from all aspects: nutrition, exercise, mental health etc. The administration of the needles was unique in that they were inserted and removed dynamically. I did not have needles inserted and then was left lying on a table. I much preferred Alex's method. Not surprisingly, I also received some immediate relief from nerve pain. Highly recommended.

Alex's knowledge of alternative medicine and preventive tools is astounding, I haven't been sick since taking his advice 4 years ago! He is very thorough, explains everything clearly with tons of support from his extensive studies and experience; it is obvious that this is his passion. The session itself was wonderful, there is a profound relaxation effect from the treatment (I forgot what it felt like to be that relaxed). Alex has a unique method compared to what I've experienced; instead of applying the acupuncture all at once, he is very conscious and needles one point at a time, keeping you in the loop. It is the most reassuring and comfortable experience I have had with acupuncture (I have seen 4 different practitioners, who would put a bunch of needles in and leave you alone in the room. I definitely prefer Alex's method, where he stays with you the whole time). The increase in circulation throughout the body is also very evident and has helped me to heal a shoulder injury and relieve my back pain. Afterwards Alex offers lots of sound advice on how to get the most out of the treatment with supplements and proper diet. If you have a chance to visit Zen Acupuncture, I highly recommend it!
