Worst police service in Ontario. They kept bouncing my non emergency call from person to person because they’re to lazy to hold a phone & listen. Had to explain 6 different times & got 6 different answers. I’m sorry for the folks that pay taxes in that part of the region. Thank god York Regional Police is much better funded & trained

Used unnecessary force on my black friend who was pinned to the ground after he refused to give his identification. The two police officers wouldn't tell him why. They randomly asked for his ID while he was walking near a robbery scene in Highland. They didn't even know the description of the suspect to begin with, other than a 20 year old male with a face mask on. My friend's family wanted to talk to the chief but after filing the complaint, WRPS never called back, as expected. I guess \walking while black\ is illegal in Kitchener.

Not honest, not truthfull, I am not sure if all of the officers are dishonest in this location or just the few who handled my case. They dont care about victims of crime if they cant find the person responsible for crime they probably suspect the victims who already has suffered financialy and mentaly. A whole team of wolves working together not to help but to destroy the innocents.

Still in therapy partially thanks to these guys. I actually had to contact the RCMP after moving all the way across the country in order to get the help I needed to deal with an abuser (who continued to harass me from Waterloo). It always seems too that officers from this service are being reprimanded for misdeeds towards colleagues and civilians alike. To the level-headed few who have maintained their integrity and humanity while working with the WRPS - I applaud you.

I have had some pretty serious experiences with police over the past ten years that had to do with a youth in crisis. They were amazing in every incident. De-escalated things so that the youth was safe, as was everyone else. If any cop had decided to go Rambo, it could have ended very badly. Thanks to our police for giving youth a second, and sometimes a third chance. They aren't perfect- and I and others want to hold them accountable for every action that is unethical or not in the best interests of the public. The bottom line is that they are most often the face of the response to so many crises in our community. That is way tougher than the social worker, ER doc, or judge who may deal with the outcome of a situation not handled with care and compassion.
