Next Step VRtual is an Alberta based tech startup. What do we do? Next Step VRtual delivers interactive visuals in virtual reality to support stakeholder engagement and project approval. We create virtual environments of real-world locations and supply the key, the virtual reality gear as a ready-to-go package, the “VR tool”, to enter these virtual worlds. The virtual environment is computer generated and simulates the landscape of the proposed location. Now, imagine this virtual space, the proposed project exists, construction is complete. At this point, we provide the stakeholder with the VR tool and the opportunity to walk around, appreciate 360-degree views, hear the landscape sounds, and interact with the project. Why we do it? Stakeholders assimilate information based on their own mental models. Personal experiences, perceptions, and partial facts collectively influence people’s actions and what things they notice. As a result, stakeholders may not process all the information communicated to them and search for messages that only align with their current views. The successful completion of a project depends on how the stakeholder views and perceives the proposition. What is our value proposition? The virtual environment and VR-tool are used in stakeholder engagement workshops and sessions. NSV replaces stakeholder's mental models with representative virtual reality models. This frames the project within the appropriate setting to achieve the desired interpretation and perspective. The outcomes are enhanced message delivery, unveiled stakeholder values, and aligned stakeholders.
