Modern public park for young toddlers to full grown adults! Kids can play safely at the playground and water park. Host parties under the canopies or many shading trees. Run around the track, play soccer, tennis, outdoor floor hockey. Did I mention free parking?

This is a large, family-oriented Confederation Park and recreation area. The city provided this great map of the park illustrating how big the area is. Families spend entire days here because there is so much to do. There are baseball diamonds, bocce courts, and tennis courts on site. Also a skateboarding area, lawn bowling, and a lacrosse box. In addition, the park offers a running track for people of all ages to enjoy. Furthermore, an outdoor water park and playground make it a great place to bring the kids. Finally, it also has a model steam railway in operation during summer weekends. The park is pet-friendly so there are lots of dog owners bringing their dogs out for a walk. As an added bonus this park has an off-leash dog park and enclosure area also available. The area has 33 picnic tables available for large groups between May and September. There are always nice spots to sit down on a bench or lay down a blanket and relax. Besides having fun outdoors, there are also indoor activities available. The park has an indoor swimming pool, fitness center, library, youth center, and seniors center. The park has washrooms on-site and maintenance crews visit daily to keep the park in great condition.

I think this is one of best parks around, especially for families. Plenty of open space for bikes and kicking a ball around. Splash pad and playground with reasonable seating around it where you watch your kids play. In addition, there is the soccer ground with track around it, basketball and tennis courts. Plenty of options for everyone I believe. Facilities were also well maintained from my previous experiences at the park. One downside (to some) is that bbq'ing is not permitted and I don't mind that actually.

I honestly think this is one of the best parks in the city. Doesn't matter what your situation (single, with friends, kids/no kids, etc.) you could honestly spend all day here. - water park - huge modern playground with different structures for different ages - bathrooms - big fields with picnic tables, some of them covered - access to clean water through taps - tons of free parking - 3 tennis courts and a basketball court - adjacent to a community centre, a library, a track, and a soccer field - walking distance to The Heights, with tons of great shops along Hastings
