Jamie and Les went above and beyond during the online instruction! In addition to a thoroughly in-depth, personalized experience, they both spent hours offline preparing to give me specific, honest and relevant advice on how to improve to my soon-to-open business. I highly recommend this course for anyone thinking about starting a coffee business.

I learned so much during the two-days intensive course I had with the Academy! As a beginner, it was very interesting to learn how to use all the machinery properly and efficiently. Mario was very helpful and friendly, and I really enjoyed the hands-on experience. Thanks guys for the amazing experience and making me more interested to learn more and improve on my skills at home!

I loved the courses I took! To be honest, I wish there were more stars :) I have taken all of the courses offered and cannot speak highly enough of the instructors and the content. It is direct, clear, concise and no BS. I really wanted to learn about opening a coffee based business, coffee culture/community and was amazed with how many mistakes I would have made…if I had not taken this class. They demystify everything about coffee, opening a business and learning how to taste. If you want to seriously train to be a barista, open a business, or just make better coffee at home you should check these guys out. Plus the added bonus…as an alumni you get ongoing support with any questions. Truly fantastic!!!!

CBA's core of teaching is based on what you need to know and not what most think you should know, stripping off the fat and focusing on the meat of the subject. I have so far attended their Barista Level 1 and Tasting courses and just recently the Coffee Business course. As a beginner I am keen to build my knowledge of the industry to support the building of my route map in starting a hobby based coffee business in the future. Les, Jamie and the team provide a very student focused, consumer influence driven syllabus. But where they differ from most is their post education devotion to their students and passion to educate the community in 'quality, not quantity'. If you're a beginner like me and you want to broaden your coffee knowledge, understand why you like some coffee and not others or how you can turn your love of Joe into a business, then this is your place to go. The simple, easy approach and process to espresso preparation meant I was pouring the attached lattes on Day 1! Thanks guys, look forward to coming back soon.

We were considering starting a coffee shop and came across the Canadian Barista & Coffee shop academy and thought that it would be a good idea to take their online Espresso Entrepreneur crash course. I am so glad that I did as even though we thought we had great ideas for our coffee shop, the knowledge and insight I received from taking the course with Jamie proved invaluable when working on our business plan. I would even recommend taking the course if you are not thinking about opening a coffee shop and are just a coffee lover that may be interested to know more about the beverage you enjoy daily, the coffee shops you enjoy visiting and what to expect from coffee shops. The 3 hours course with Jamie went by so fast as he is super easy to talk with and knowledgeable. As soon as I am able to, I would love to take their in-person 4-day training course. For me the value I received from the course far exceeded what I paid.

I attended the Barista Level One workshop - excellent, informative workshop! Great curriculum, covers the basics and you leave with a solid foundation. Instructor was super patient and even got to learn some latte art. Highly recommended.
