Best yacht club on the Ottawa River. The main club offers delicious food of all kinds (Fries, Poutine, Salad, Burgers, Steak, etc..). Also, it’s a great place to drink beer (if your 19 of course) and watch the best sunset on the Ottawa river. The junior club on the other side hosts multiple fun camps where your kids can sail and make good friends. I sail a boat called an optimist at the junior club, and it’s safe to say I spend most of my time around there.

This is where you can find brave and noble sailors. The club situates on the vicinity of Ottawa river rapids. Over the years the sailors from the club were involved in rescuing boaters, Windsurfers or other adventurers who lost control and were in danger of being washed down the rapids. The club teaches kids how to sail and the little white sails make a memorable summer scene on the Ottawa river. Big thanks to the generous and warm hearted sailors and rescuers.
We went to Ottawa to visit some friends and they took us to the Yacht Club for dinner. It was a really nice experience to be there. When we arrived we took a beer outside watching the sunset, that was absolutely amazing, by the way. After that we got inside and try some of their nachos as an appetizer. They were so tasty. Then we order two of their daily special plates. Everything was just good. There was a guy working on the floor that night, Alex... he is so nice and he make you feel special and gives a super nice treatment to everybody.
My husband and I got married at the BYC this past November. If you're looking for a venue to get married we cannot recommend them enough! After being in contact with them for over a year during the planning process, their entire staff (and Events Manager Kim in particular) were outstanding - unbelievably kind, professional and accomodating. When the COVID-19 pandemic hit and restrictions prevented us from having the wedding we initially planned they insisted on hosting our ceremony with 10 people for free...despite all the hours they spent with us (including a full meal tasting, and many visits!) they decorated the entire venue, ordered in special chair sashes and linens, and coordinated with us the day before and the day of (meeting with us during off hours, and even cueing the wedding procession down the aisle) at no cost. We asked them several times to at least keep our initial deposit, but they insisted, refunding everything we had given them and wouldn't even let us provide a tip. Part of the wedding package also included a one year membership to the club, which they even extended for another season in consolation for being closed during the pandemic. BYC is AMAZING, their incredible generosity and service is unreal...we actually felt bad they were so good to us. We could not have been happier with how our wedding turned out - it was absolutely perfect. On top of their unbelievable service, the atmosphere is classy and warm and the view is incredible :) it doesn't feel like you're in the city at all. Their food is also amazing!! Hands down one of the best places we have ever eaten at. Really can't say enough positive things about BYC...would 100% recommend to anybody! :)
The Clubhouse food compares to fine restaurants, recreational facilities and amenities are all outstanding. Location with views of the 44 kilometres long lake Deschênes are breathtaking and the welcoming from Commodore Lisa Shishis and staff, extremely courteous. I can't wait for the next season.
