The pain of an Eating Disorder (ED) does not just impact the person with the ED, it impacts the whole family. As parents it broke our hearts to watch our daughter struggle for years in silence with an ED, and not be able to help. Since entering Blossom Place we have witnessed a drastic change in our daughter, it brings tears of joy and relief to our eyes. The focus has not only been on her eating, but on her self esteem, her body image, exercising, cooking, shopping, and learning to love and nourish her body and soul – the list goes on. Our daughters confidence continues to grow every day, and she is embracing the beautiful woman that she is. We have witnessed her ‘Blossom’ under the guidance of her peers and the program, and we are thankful every single day that we found Blossom.

Best decision I ever made was to go to blossom place. Deanna and all the girls there made me feel so at home even though I was outpatient. I got so much help and I learnt so much is so little of time. I was only there for a month but during that month I learnt so much amazing stuff and now I live my life to the fullest everyday I do still struggle but I’m so much better from where I was before ever finding blossom. I’m will forever be grateful of Deanna and her peeps at blossom place.

My daughter has been a resident of Blossom House for 2 months. She has seen such positive improvements that she has decided to continue the program for an additional two months. It certainly exceeds the our parental expectations. She is loving the nutrition instruction, healthy living and supportive atmosphere. Most importantly , she is happy.
Thank you Deanna and Blossom Place… Our daughter has been suffering silently from an Eating Disorder for the past 7 years. On the outside she was a very accomplished, high functioning, beautiful young lady. Eventually her world came crashing down. Our daughter’s physical and mental health deteriorated due to the long-term effects of ED. As parents, we found ourselves helpless, terrified, with very few options for help. Long wait lists for the inpatient programs through Public Health Care System created desperation, finally leading us down a path in search of private treatment centres. We learned that Canada has very limited options, and US treatment programs were financially out of our reach. Finally, all of our research lead us to Blossom Place in Nanaimo British Columbia, so immediately we left for the Island. Upon our arrival at Blossom Place the young women from the program were there to greet our daughter, we immediately sensed a tremendous amount of care, acceptance, honesty, and connection. We feel incredibly fortunate to have been connected with Blossom Place and its Founder Deanna Sullivan, even though it’s a 1,000 kilo-meters away from our home. Our daughter has just completed 3 months at Blossom Place and we have seen some remarkable changes. Even though she has a long journey ahead of her, we are confident that with Deanna’s expertise, compassion, patience, and dedication she will recover from her Eating Disorder. Thank you Deanna for everything you continue to do for our daughter.
