Gorgeous fountain. Love old historic sculptures.

Recall this statue originally being situated in St. George's square in my childhood, 1960s. And no, it was not originally painted. It had a green patina as if it were copper clad. Brings back memories. Lots of cases of people putting detergent in the water just to see it overflow with foam. Dumb!
Not sure about the paint job on this historic sculpture and fountain. Need to read up and see if it was originally painted. However, it is well maintained which is more than can be said for the IODE Fountain and the Mary statue at the Basilica. Overall it's a pretty parkette and the fountain is commanding in aspect and worth visiting.
Good fountain my family visited for years
Im very happy to be the one who add this place to google maps ️
