My favourite Resto in the Sydney/ North Sydney area. The food is consistent and delicious, reasonably priced, nice staff. Now with their new addition there is way more space and it is an even better place to dine. I enjoy sipping some drinks & having some apps on their bar side as well. Bonus is the owner (Mike) is a gem who you can always find working his butt off making delicious meals. Love supporting this place!

Best fine dine so far I have been too in Cape Breton. Chocolate moose cake is the best i have ever had. The dip they have homemade is really good but kinda expensive haha anyways best place for dine in.

You guys better be careful who you sell your food to. If too many 12 year olds go then they might steal every recipe for themselves and start a new business. I don't know how this place is one of the "best" restaurants on the Northside when all they serve is expensive food that you can make at home with no effort and at half the price.

Easily in my top 5 restaurants of all-time!!! (and we like to eat out). You will not be disappointed if you go here! They have a variety of options for all types of palettes. Portions are large, service is second to none, and timing of our three course meal was impeccable. Desserts were mouth watering and generous in size. I found that the price was extremely reasonable for the quality and service we received! Have never written a restaurant review before, but felt obligated to share our perfect experience here. Will most definitely visit again!

Stellar dining experience as always. Cozy atmosphere, mouth watering cuisine, beautiful presentation and awesome service. What else can you ask for? This place is very busy and they do not take reservations during the summer. Still definitely worth the wait and highly recommended for addition to your "Must Dine At List". You will be disappointed!

The Black Spoon gives you a dining experience that will have you taste buds happy for days!! The food is always prepared with the knowledge and quality from a chef who is experienced and who takes great pride in his skills!! My very favorite dish is the peppercorn steak with the garlic mashed potatoes and vegetables!! I search restaurants for fabulous steaks and Mike's steaks rival the steak experience I had in Chicago!! The desserts are so scrumptious you will never forget the flavor!! Don't miss out experiencing this wonderful establishment and visit the Black Spoon every chance you get!!

Awesome food!! We had a party of four: one sea food lover, one “I can eat anything “, one “Chicken only” guy and one vegetarian. Testament to this place is that we all four said, this was the best lunch we had on Cabot Trail. Its a vibrant place with many tourists coming from Cruise docks across the street. Pleasant staff, affordable food and tasteful. Loved it. Our server eve brought those fancy cheese and pepper shredding things - fancy!! Loved it. Highly recommended. Side note: I love my food spicy. They only have tabasco. I like Frank’s Hot Sauce, which I carry with me in our car during vacationing. They allowed me to bring it into the restaurant and that made my meal even better. I know its a small gesture but for me, It made my Good meal, Awesome!! Thanks

Wow. Not sure I know how to accurately describe our experience here. We were staying in Baddeck for a few days and wanted to go out for a nice dinner. Couldn't quite find what we wanted to eat locally, so we went on an adventure. The reviews and 4.8 star rating drew us in, but the staff, food, and ambiance made us stay. From the moment we walked in, everything was clean and open concept. Staff was exceptionally friendly, really knowledgeable about the food, and checked in often. When we mentioned to the owner that we had never had mussels before, he was so thoughtful in describing them and encouraging us to try them. We shared an appetizer to start - maple curry spring rolls. I would literally drive back there from the HRM to get them again. My husband, originally from the UK and has yet to find a curry sauce here that he likes, said he would take home a bucket of it. Sweet, slightly spicy, aromatic and not at all greasy. Really crispy and fresh - so delicious! For dinner, my husband had the cajun seafood pasta and we were both blown away at the volume of shrimp, scallops, lobster and mussels in there. Also - mussels are delicious. If you haven't tried them, you should. I had their scallop carbonara and it was literally perfect. A very balanced flavour with caramelized onions, and topped with EIGHT bacon wrapped scallops. Guys - do yourself a favour and go here to eat. I can imagine everything else is equally delicious - I kept looking at everyone else's food as it was coming out. Too full for dessert this time, but I have a feeling we will be back.
